About the Hawaii Education AssociationThe Hawaii Education Association (HEA) is an independent, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization governed by its members. HEA focuses on the perpetuation and improvement of education in Hawaii, and the enhancement of the welfare of its members. HEA welcomes as members public and private school teachers, university and college personnel, educational administrators, retirees, and friends of education from all sectors of our local and national communities. Annual membership dues are only $12. HEA's year-round activities include literary contests for public school students, scholarships, and programs designed to encourage young people to enter the teaching profession. Member benefits include insurance and discount purchase programs. A quarterly newsletter Accent Hawaii keeps HEA's membership informed about the Association's efforts.
