Be a Teacher
Program
This continuing
program to attract students of exceptional ability to
consider teaching as a career was begun by HEA in 1991.
It includes grants and awards and cooperates with the
Hawaii State Department of Education. HEA welcomes
financial assistance from future partners in this
effort.
Hawaii Alliance for Future
Teachers (HAFT)
HEA joined in
partnership with HAFT to establish a Teacher Cadet
Program. The program consists of high school and
college-level courses, designed to encourage high school
students to choose teaching as a career.
Scholarships
Each year HEA
awards scholarships to individuals (and their children)
who have been members of HEA for a full year or longer.
Applications may be requested from guidance counselors
and school administrators in public and private schools
throughout the state, and from financial aid officers at
Hawaii's colleges and universities. Forms and information
is also available from HEA.
HEA also awards several
endowed scholarships including the Faith C. Ai Lai and
the May and Hubert Everly Scholarships.

information on scholarships, check out our

Workshops and
Seminars
HEA annually
sponsors workshops and seminars that are planned to meet
the various needs of our membership. These presentations
