HEA On the Move

After more than 50 years at the Kalakua address, the Hawaii Education Association has moved. Our Kalakua property was sold to Lee Investment, the owner of a neighboring business. Our phone, fax and email remain the same, but our new address is:

NOMINATIONS FOR THE HEA HONOR ROLL FOR DISTINGUISHED SERVICE

The HEA Honor Role for Distinguished Service seeks to recognize and reward HEA members who have provided outstanding service to the Association and have made notable contributions to the betterment of education and the community-at-large.

CRITERIA

1. A nominee must be a member of HEA. Members from all categories of membership (Active, Retired, and Associate) are eligible for nomination.
   
2. A nominee's achievements must include outstanding service to HEA.
   
3. Other considerations in addition to this mandatory criterion may include: (1) Contributions to Education in the State of Hawaii, and (2) Citizenship/Community Service.
   
4. Former HEA staff members may be nominated, but current staff members are ineligible.

Consideration will be given to all nominees, living or deceased and regardless of age, who meet the above stated criteria. Selection of candidates will be made by the HEA Honor Roll for Distinguished Service Committee, with final approval by the HEA Board of Trustees.

Any HEA member may make nominations..Eligibility for the 2007-08 award requires that nominations be postmarked no later than December 31, 2007. Click here for a Nomination Form and information (pdf file).

FUNDRAISING FOR HEA

HEA has recently become a member of ShopforEducation.org. Whenever someone shops online through the ShopforEducation.org marketplace located on our website, a percentage of every purchase is returned to HEA. There are almost 1000 nationally recognized merchants including Target, Macy's, Barnes & Noble and Wal-Mart that will provide between 2.5% and 9.5% of each online purchase to our organization.

Individuals do not need to register or pay anything to access the Marketplace, but must first go to HEA's website, click on the Marketplace button and then shop at a merchant store. As a reminder, if a shopper goes directly to the merchant's website and shops without first going to HEA's website, HEA will not receive any funds. You must access the merchant through our website.

Shoppers pay the same price for merchandise when shopping at the merchant store through HEA's Marketplace, as they would if they were shopping directly at the merchant's website. In fact, the price is often better, because of exclusive offers and promotions.
